Either your IR lamps have drifted or the heat field has just given up the ghost. We make quartz IR lamps that slide right into KHS systems to plug those thermal gaps and get your bottles looking right again. The secret is in the winding. Here’s the thing: heat uniformity comes down to how the tungsten filament is wound and how pure the quartz is. If the winding is loose, you get “cold spots.” That’s a nightmare because the preform stretches unevenly, and you’re back to squaring off with quality control. We keep our winding tolerances tight. This keeps the watt-density steady across the whole tube. Plus, we spec these to hit the exact voltage and wattage your KHS oven expects.
