Now, you can just slide our lamps in and actually trust them to stay lit. Getting the heat right Here’s the thing: heating PET is a delicate balance. You need to hit that exact glass transition temperature. If your wattage is even slightly off, you end up with “cold spots” in the preform, and that’s a quality nightmare. We make sure our replacements match Sidel’s original footprints exactly. No guessing games. We use high-wattage shortwave lamps to keep your cycle times fast, but a quick heads-up: if you’re pushing more wattage, keep your cooling fans clean. If the airflow is choked, the housing overheats and your quartz is toast. Simple as that. Built to actually last Most tubes fail at the pinch seal or the connector. It’s the weakest link. To fix that, we used reinforced quartz glass and a better way of bonding the electrodes to stop those premature cracks. We also obsessed over the connectors. A loose fit causes arcing, which creates these nasty little hotspots that melt your socket. We tightened those tolerances so you can wire them up and basically forget about them. The bottom line You don’t need to modify your machine or call in a technician. You just pull the old tube out and slide the new one in. Yes, these cost a bit more than the generic stuff.
